Jim Brickman Editorial Review
The Skinny
Jim Brickman has made a career out of lush, peaceful piano-driven soundscapes that fall in the cracks somewhere between soft rock, smooth jazz and new-age music. A former composer for Jim Henson's company (he's written for the "Muppets" and "Sesame Street"), Brickman signed to the respectable soft-focus jazz label Windham Hill, where he's released a string of albums chock full of melodic piano with a definite grounding in romantic pop. The recent "My Romance: An Evening with Jim Brickman" is a sort of live greatest hits package (it's also a PBS special), for which Brickman is currently touring.
The Crowd
Brickman's evocative instrumental work and romantic pop sensibilities should appeal to fans of mushy Celine Dion fare as well as followers of new-age gurus Yanni, John Tesh and even David Arkenstone.

Insider Tips
"My Romance" features guest appearances by Donny Osmond, Olivia Newton-John and smooth-jazz sax man Dave Koz. After dipping your toe in the water with "Romance," graduate to the lush "By Heart" and the recent "Destiny."

Better than John Tesh . . .
I really enjoy Jim's music and his performances are always great.
