closed. Hello. This place closed like 8 years ago. You really need to update this site. Please wake up! Hello??????? Thank you
This freshly scrubbed club has found its following in the alt-everything sounds of the young, up-and-comers..
The Scene
The nearby Brothers Lounge has dropped its musical line-up for a piano bar, and new neighbor Tony DiVenere has created the Blind Lemon in its wake. But since no one can honestly say what works in eastern Lakewood anymore, he is experimenting with all kinds of bands; it's like the music button in the Lemon is stuck on "scan." Most would say that's positive for both the eclectic, pierced twentysomethings and the casual post-college crowd that are starting to filter in. So far, punk, blues and rockabilly have been the featured music du jour. The bar has been cleaned up to reveal a colorful tile floor, and the main room stretches into a checkered stage area. For beer's sake, try the Caffrey's Irish Ale on tap, or the mysterious Hempen beer (is it really hemp?).
The Verdict
The Lemon isn't smoking yet, but with Lakewood dominated by Irish corner bars, it's a welcome change.
