This place is perfection ?. We dined at One Walnut Restaurant last week and I am not one to post reviews but I had to with this one. We had an incredible experience ? everything was first class. The food was amazing ? the menu is set up in courses so you can enjoy a variety of foods and the serving sizes were perfect per course. We are wine lovers and the wine list was impressive. The service staff was professional, personal and attentive yet not over the top and the atmosphere was cozy and trendy at the same time. The evening was perfect ? I am recommending this place to everyone I know. One Walnut is not to be missed ? definitely the best restaurant I have been to!

Terrible Service. Restaurant was very understaffed and disinterested. We waited at the bar and could not get the bartender to wait on us, even though there was hardly anyone there. When she finally did, she wouldn't get us a drink menu because they weren't readily available. The hostess was very rude and we waited nearly an hour despite having a reservation. Our waiter was very unattentive. I expected much better service for the price.

Best Restaurant for a Special Night Out. One Walnut is owned by a local husband and wife, who are the most charming people you can imagine. I went with my family to celebrate my father's birthday, and we were all wildly impressed by our meals. My sister and I are vegetarians, and the chef prepared original dishes for each of us that were custom tailored to our food preferences. (4 gourmet vegetarian courses for just $29!; 4 meat courses for $55) The portions are small, but there are a lot of them, so we were all very full and happy by the end. The ambiance is classy and elegant. I highly recommend One Walnut to anyone looking for a special night out.

Best Location for A Special Evening in Cleveland. Can't say enough about this restaurant. What a special find in Cleveland. From the moment we were seated, our waitress was extremely attentive and the food was delicious. Even the bathroom was memorable. Strange location, but very nice. Exactly the type of restroom women want.

The art deco decor was inviting, and our corner table/booth was very romantic. This was a very special evening, and we enjoyed every moment of our visit. Although very expensive, it was worth it, and is an experience I won't soon forget.

Comfort food with attitude prepared by one of Cleveland's favorite chefs.. The Scene
The latest effort from famed Chef-restaurateur Marlin Kaplan attracts starry-eyed locals who would pay to watch him open Spam cans. You couldn't ask for a more laid-back setting--a black stone and brushed-steel clubhouse dominated by a round art-deco mirror and stiff martinis. The diners are comprised of investment bankers, dine-hard foodies and assorted beautiful people fueling up before or after an evening on the town.

The Food
Even Kaplan's simple hash recalls a stunning hybrid of Midwestern roots, Asian temples and island breezes. The Tuscan grilled veal chop wanders from the Milanese classic via a citrus-sauce splash, and a five-spice duck breast boasts egg-drop broth and sausage. Sometimes Kaplan goes over the top (an over-easy egg and pasta carbonara, for example), but the usual destination is platter heaven, as in roasted chicken with bay leaf and figs, or a really great burger. And who could resist an appetizer called Long Island Big Hair Tuna?

Great Place for Biz Lunch. One Walnut is a great location/restaurant for a business lunch, especially if you're on an expense account (with no per diem).

User review by hemz7781. Although the food is great, the portions are incredibly small. I once ordered a fish lunch special which consisted of a piece of grilled fish that was no more than 2 inches by 5 inches, a tiny pile of scallop potatoes and 5 green beans!

Service cold if not on expensive account. Went here last night for an nice evening out and got ice cold serivce with no warmth or attention because we ordered only small meals. My sense is you only get treated well here if you are spending big on somelse's expensive account. Food spotty, about half the dishes were good and about half were uninspiring. The climtate controls were bitterly cold. If you want good food in a warmer climate (both physically and metaphorically speaking) go to Parkers in Ohio City.
