Warehouse style--without Warehouse crowds, attitudes and prices..
The Scene
Nestled underneath Bottom's Up Cafe, this nightclub brings Warehouse District-style versitility to the sports-bar heavy Gateway area. The crowd includes Indians fans, Playhouse
Square patrons and downtown professionals. Thursdays and Fridays are geared to a funky, eclectic 25-and-up crowd; "Solid Gold Saturday" theme nights draw a respectable, mellow group.
The Draw
The bar/restaurant offers a light menu to satisfy your need for a quick bite before the game, a meeting with a coworker or client. It's a good place to dine alone in a friendly, casual environment. The dynamic acoustics and comfortably lit ambience make this basement bar the ideal place to sample Latin jazz or drop in on a hairdresser party.…
Place is ok. not what I expected after reading some reviews online. Place was NOT busy at all, almost kind of morbidly dead to be honest. DJ's were ok, drinks were ok, but with th lack of customers, no vibe whatsoever.…
The best music.
Abbasso has truly the most innovative music in town, with some of the best local and headliner DJ's. It's rare to find a club where you can hear a DJ lay down some fantastic sets in such an intimate
setting.
This summer alone has given me to opportunity to hear numerous local DJ's as well as John Howard, Steve Porter, Dan Mnookin, Randall Jones, etc... (And all had phenomenal sets!), not only that the crowds had such an amazing vibe and appreciation which = some very fun nights!
This is the only place I know in Cleveland where the dance floor can be filled with bodies moving until 5:30 in the morning.
If you're into music and friendly people this is the place. (And ask for a Tall Paul---it's the best drink in town!)…
unbelievable. My girl and I had been seeing the ads for this place for the past few months and finally made it out last Friday. All I can say is: "Unbelievable!" I've traveled a lot and have been into the dance music scene for years. The progressive house music I heard @Abbasso was as good, if not better, than anything I've heard. There are other mega clubs in town that boast being about the music, but this place is the real deal. The resident DJ is from New York City from what I understand. Abbasso has a very urban feel to it. Very comfortable, lots of room to dance and to sit comfortably. I highly recommend it. I know we'll be regulars from now on.…
underground cool. Good drinks. Unique lighting. Great seperate lounge to hang out in away from a crowd, yet plenty of room in another area to dance. Techno music top-notch, not always the same boring poundign beat most people associate with techno.…
