Editorial Review for Touch Supper Club – by
The Scene
The idea-makers behind The Brillo have upgraded location and ambiance but remained loyal. Come for an intimate dinner of basil oil mussles meuniere, black-bean quesadillas, crabcakes or hazelnut-crusted walleye; sip a bomb martini and chat with an Indian doctor or a lawyer for the Coast Guard. The stream of techo-color boxes that read like Braille across the walls (by local artist Mark McLeeson) is a conversation piece in itself. The basement is pre-beatnik in decor, full of brick and secular lighting. The staff is reminiscent of characters from PBS' "Electric Company"; Kent at the door has the city's best vintage wardrobe and Eric still can pull off scarves.
You'd Be Like Heaven To Touch
Touch is exactly what the West Side needs: a unity point for dinner, dancing and stimulating conversation. Friday night is when it happens, but the club's weekly entertainment offerings are on the move. The staff is too creative to not continually bring in eclectic events.

Insider Tips
Touch ThisHosted by bartender/producer Jeff Fritz, Thursday evenings become nights of Jungle, Break Beats and more in the basement that never sleeps. Usually the cast from The Human Zoo, a downtown troupe that performs twisted sketches a la "SNL," meets here.

We ate 2 appetizers (one cold one hot) and two meals. Everything was presented creatively but without the pretentious high fashion dining experience where you get all art and no food. Tastes were right on, with an asian fusion blend of sauces and textures. Even steak, which is becoming harder to find in fashionable enviro-concious restaurants, was complemented with a tangy sauce (on the side of course) and a greens salad with just the right amount of bite to it. They even had a new twist on potatoes with a fry/chip hybrid (which they purport to be Beligian.) Udan was soupy and had a strong "chicken noodle soup" essence without losing its asian flair, certainly good comfort food and at $7 a solid meal in itself.
Pros: Food Quality, Music, Cheap
Cons: Parking, Confusing Seating Layout

Finally, a Cleveland club that has GREAT LIVE SALSA every friday night; where the dace floor gets full of people who are just looking to have some fun. The crowd is easy going, the music is the best in Cleveland for salsa, and afterwards, its time for SAMBA! Right now, Matteo is also teaching salsa before the band begins so there is no excuse not to go. See you there.
Pros: great music, great service, great ambience
Cons: small dance floor
