The Scene – Picture this: a thick, beaded curtain, a vibrant orange couch, 1950s Playboys piled next to an overused vinyl copy of "Saturday Night Fever." You're inside Flower Child, a two-story vintage shop representing nearly every houseware and clothing trend of the 20th century. From the military-esque to the downright gauche, items are displayed with the reverence of museum artifacts. – – The Selection – The fabulous selection of vintage pieces includes a hodgepodge of knickknacks, furniture, collectibles, clothes and accessories. AMAZING best vintage store I've ever been to
by alexedav at Citysearch
I grew up in Cleveland, currently live in DC, visit NYC frequently, spent 6 months in Paris/France and I've still never found a better vintage store. Most vintage stores have a handful of decent items (usually costume jewelry or hats), a bunch of costume-y, 'retro' items, and some overpriced glorified thrift store finds. Not Flower Child. The vast majority of their stuff (clothes, art, kitch toys/objets d'art, furniture, glassware, records, magazines) is from the 50s-70s. Some things are admittedly overpriced, especially the tee-shirts, but most things are pretty reasonable when you think of it compared to other stores and not Goodwill. And there is always the occasion great find for cheap. You could (and I have) spent 3+ hours there, and still have rooms you've never seen. The womens clothing is generally better quality and more varied, but for a vintage store the men's selection is great. Some of the best finds are the glassware, like huge, immaculate punch bowl sets. Also, the costume jewelry selection is the best I've seen outside of NYC or Paris, and far cheaper. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. In a sea of H&Ms and Targets, Flower Child is a retail maverick that's always fun to visit, even if you don't buy anything. We are lucky to have it in Cleveland.
- Pros: amazing selection, reasonable prices, HUGE
- Cons: some items overpriced

They have 2 stores. There is one also in Columbus on High street. The employees that work there are very likeable people and are willing and able to help you dress up your home or even yourself. Both stores are equally great in the merchandise they carry. Its a must see to appreciate.
- Pros: Both stores are great.
- Cons: parking. Columbus has parking available.

I love this store! I've never seen so many wonderful collectible and vintage items ANYWHERE as I found here. Spacious, LOTS of themed rooms so you can find what you're looking for, and an off-beat owner who loves her job. OTHER VINTAGE SHOPS IN CLEVELAND TAKE NOTE!!! Truly awesome.
- Pros: So many items from the early 1900s on!
- Cons: parking can be bad.
