Editorial Review for Cuyahoga Valley National Park – by Angela Fasick
Overview
Located in a fertile valley to the south of Cleveland, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park is 20 miles long and varies from a half-mile to seven-miles wide. The best wildflowering takes place smack dab in the middle, around the Brandywine Gorge Trail. The trail is a moderate-to-difficult hike, but boasts more than 75 varieties of blooms on its mile-and-a-half route. Brandywine Creek turns a bit ferocious after a rain, so if you're visiting on a muddy day, stick to the gravel Tow Path Trail.
The Experience
There are five visitors centers. Wildflower enthusiasts should head straight for the aptly named Happy Days outpost. Besides the abundant blooms at Brandywine Gorge, there are a variety of beautiful flowers to see surrounding Happy Days' easy half-mile Haskell Run loop trail. Naturalists at the visitors centers can provide maps and offer monthly guided wildflower hikes.

Over Labor day weekend had the pleasure of taking the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad in thru the valley it was fun. We went to and from Hale Farm and Village. Plan on doing another trip on the railroad maybe to Quaker Square this time.
