The good, the bad and the drive-in.
My growing family has been going to the Aut-O-Rama Twin Drive-In Theatre in North Ridgeville, OH, an average of 10 times a summer for the past 11 years; do the math, figuring movies and lots of concession purchases, that's a lot of dough. Unfortunately, we will never attend again.
Last night, we had an unfortunate encounter, we think, with the owner, Mrs. Sherman, and will be looking for new places to spend our very hard-earned money.
Customer "dis"dervice is one thing, but flat out stealing our money by a gift certificate scam is not to be forgiven.
But, let me be clear, the drive-in is a terrific experience and Northeast Ohio is fortunate to still have two in existence. I am in no way discouraging others from attending; I am very frustrated with what happened last night and am only interested in sharing my story.
Aut-O-Rama Twin Drive-In: Terribly Unfriendly. My husband and I went to the Aut-O-Rama drive in recently and had a really unsettling experience. When I got out of the car to get our infant from the back seat an employee told us we had to move back another row. We countered that another employee had told us to park here, but he said "I don't care, move.? My husband said he did not appreciate the mixed messages, could we just get a refund. The employee said fine, "go to the box office.? We returned to the box office and explained the situation. The women at the box office were apologetic and pointed us to the concession stand for the refund. I went to a cashier in the concession stand and a man began screaming, "You're driving crazy in my parking lot you need to leave.? I said that's not true. He continued screaming as I quietly left. Another man approached the car and said we had to leave. My husband asked to see the manager. The man said, no, I?m a police offer, leave or I?ll call the police (this man was dressed in a drive-in sweatshirt with no identifying markings & was smoking in my husband's face). We are intensely frustrated, and deeply saddened by this experience. We had frequented this theater ten or more times a summer and had been doing so for the past seven years. After this experience however, we will never return. The owner/operators of this theatre are terribly unfriendly and I highly recommend that people spend their hard-earned money elsewhere.
