The Scene
Through a well-worn revolving door, a permanently green driving range beckons from this huge golf ball-shaped entertainment dome. A soft breeze provided by several large fans is occasionally cut into by the gunshot-sounding "ping" of a great drive. The gentle rise and fall of the artificial turf, designed to resemble a perfect outdoor course, may lead you to expect the Teletubbies to pop out and critique your last shot. If you'd prefer professional assistance from a human, you'll find instructors on duty from 9am till 9pm daily, as well as an on-premises pro shop and repair shop.
The Outer Limits
The climate-controlled dome is the perfect spot to keep your swing in shape on days of inclement weather. But when the sun is shining, head out back to the outdoor driving range. Really, what could be better than hitting a few buckets while watching traffic crawl across the I-480 bridge?
The Crowd
Weekdays at 5pm, while South side commuters face the after-work traffic, clever golf hounds spend happy hour leveling their shoulders. The conversation is light, but not limited to "Playing much? No, you?" Weekends find everyone from Rodney Dangerfield types to extended families practicing their swings.
