improper collection practices

I hope you don't get caught in this companies clutches. They are insulting, rude, and have a knack at barely skimming the law requirements for proper collection practices. I filed bankruptcy for all the right reasons. I needed help after losing a job, and getting buried with student loan payments that by the way aren't included in bankruptcy. Bankruptcy was my only option to keep me from losing everything.

When talking to a representative at this company about a co-signed loan I couldn't pay for and discussing my bankruptcy, I was told, "You Stuck it to your (*family member) and now you are sticking to (*school loan company)." The person that co-signed the loan was being threatened that their business would be taken, and also their home. Apparently 4 times is the charm to ask them not to contact myself and co-signer at our places of employment. After my lawyer contacted them, I sent a letter asking them to agree to a payment plan and sent them a payment. The letter said that if they cashed the check, it'd be notice of their agreement to my payment plan terms, (they did not want to work out a deal with payments for me previously, and said, "I can't get anything from you, you're bankrupt!"). Long story short, 4 months later after requesting, I still have never received a receipt or letter from them acknowledging the payments or a set amount to be repaid. Not sure of my next step, but please watch out for them!
