An open kitchen churns out wood-fired pizzas and fresh-made pastas at this casual Sicilian-American chain..
In Short
Decorated with family photos of founders Damian Mandola and Johnny Carrabba, the open dining rooms pack groups of friends and extended families into four- and six-person tables and booths; smaller parties or couples can grab stools at the open kitchen's adjoining bar to watch chefs make dinner. The traditional southern Italian menu offers grill specialties like steak Marsala and fire-roasted chicken breast with sun-dried tomatoes; pasta dishes include fettuccine Alfredo and garlic-sauteed shrimp with linguine.
Best Chicken Marsala. We were seated promptly after using call ahead seating. Our server was friendly and efficient! She even offered free dessert for my husband's birthday! What a delicious meal! I highly recommend the Chicken Marsala and the Pollo Rosa.
Ok Place to eat.
Tried to call ahead, was not told in advance that you could not do this, ended waiting an additional 40 min. to get seated.
Food was OK, fetucinne a little to oily. Meat was well prepared.
Not in any hurry to go back, as there are better Italian restaurants in the area.
A bit generic, but good overall value.. The atmosphere is great; no loud obtrusive music, clean, and tables well spaced. The food was about average; I've had better, but I would go back. The only touch of weirdness is that the ingredients of the salad change based on whether you order dressing or not. If a dry salad, you get hot pepper and onions. If not, you get just lettuce with dressing. Crowded, but if they tell you it's a 30-minute wait, it doesn't turn out to be much longer. The help is great.
User review by themax121. If you're looking for "good" Italian food .....this is not the place
This is Italian?.
From the long wait (nearly an hour) to the salad that looked like it had been left on a steam table to the overcooeled entree my visits 3) were a disaster. I just don't get why so many people think that chains offer good food. consistint maybe but not a good representation of local or regional food
For the money there are better local places.
NEVER AGAIN. Not very accommidating to parties over two! We were a party of 6 and had to wait 95 minutes for a table! The heat was not working properly and we had to eat with our coats and gloves on! The table was not level and all the silverware kept sliding off the one side. The food was very salty, the help wasn`t very on top of things, and there was only one friendly person working there and she was offering a plate of snacks to all the waiting customers. They told us they would send a manager out to see us..he showed up 40 minutes later, he did try to make us happy by giving us free expresso and dessert and turning up the heat, so he tried!
