I was really skeptical, please read on.. I got a refinance package from the major lender who we had had our home loan for 9 yr's. Inquired about payments on a 20yr fixed. To my surprise they were only $20 less per month, with dropping the APR almost 2 points.

Got the blanket mailer from First Ohio Banc, went online and read the reviews. Decided to feel them out. I'm so glad I did. There were a few bad posts about the company but the 1 guy that had great reviews was Greg Curran. I called the company and asked for him.

He did everyting he said he would do, and explained anything I didn't understand. Returned phone calls quickly. With all the answers. We got the best possible package for our situation.

I don't plan on refinancing this house any time soon, but if we do. I would not hesitate to use him again.

PS. After much review, the bad posts about this company were simply people who got the same letter I got and didn't have the credit score to quailify for a refi.

Greg Curran Goes Above & Beyond. My family got caught up in the economic downturn in a big way and found we needed to explore our finance/refinance options for our house. We contacted Greg Curran at First Ohio Banc and couldn't not have been more pleased with his efforts on our behalf. My situation is probably a bit different than most positive reviewers here simply because we did not ultimately get the refinance we needed and hoped for. ...However, that is not a reflection on the efforts of Greg and First Ohio. To the contrary, we felt that he explored every avenue available and put effort over and above that of any other lender we had dealt with. Even though we ultimately did not get our refinance, at the end of the process we knew that if there had been any way possible, Greg would have made it happen. It's that kind of personal attention and dedication we felt he had to us that will make us contact him again when the need arises.

Maria Dorsky was a God send!. Just took a chance on Ohio Banc and we are glad we did! Maria Dorsky was very helpful and very timely.

She was a pleasure to work with and made it possible to get more than we expected! She was a God send!

Chris Tanko helps me save money. I don't have a lot of time, but if you are thinking of re-financing, go with First Ohio Banc and ask for Chris Tanko. He was polite, friendly, curtious and most of all understood my needs/financial situation and got me the best deal out there. When we came accross some road blocks, he was qucik to come with solutions to make this process run smoother and get us closed asap. Thanks again CT. Happy Holidays!!

Jeff Mix the most helpfull loan officer yet. Every time I called for an update or with a question jeff was honest and made sure if he didn't have the answer he would find it and relay it back in a timley manner. I will be telling all my friends about his great service.

Maria Amato Dorsky...an Angel sent from Heaven!!!. Maria was referred to me by a good friend who told me that she was an excellent loan officer. That was an understatement! Maria was an exceptional loan officer who worked diligently with me to get the best loan under my circumstances. She was a honest person who went the extra for me and really listened. Maria knew the mortgage market very well and was able to guide and explain things in the process.



I did not have very good experiences while searching for a loan until my friend put in contact with an angel from heaven!!!

I cannot thank her enough...she really looked out for me! I have recommended Maria to my friends.

Greg Curran- professional and realistic!. Me an my wife were in the market to buy a house shortly after our marriage in 2008. Greg expained that we may be able to qualify for a FHA loan. What is that? Ask him and I am sure he will explain it to you as he did to us. He didn't make any empty promises, pull my credit w/ asking or refuse send me a good faith estimate. I have no idea what these other peoples experiences really were but I have to believe most didn't have a shot at a decent rate or were simply trying to get to the end of a mortgage rate rainbow. Anyway, we had a great experience. We do not plan to refinance but if we do it will be with Greg and First Ohio Banc.

P.S. I am in a sales position where I look at clients credit on a daily basis as a part of the insurance process. For the life of me I can not understand the people who call ANY business and start the conversation out with " I'm shopping around and I have GREAT credit." Really? I would certainly tell you to scram, in a nice way of course. My time is worth just as much as yours john q public and contrary to our societies preprogrammed consumer thinking..."The customer is NOT always right."

great service, very happy!. Shopping for a mortgage to refinance our home in Westlake. Not something we were looking foreward to, but rates have been dropping and it was time. Spoke with our local bank and the current lender, both were very slow in returning calls. Our local bank pulled our credit and because there were some issues with it, we were told that they couldn't help us. I received a letter from First Ohio and called them. I spoke with Mike Mulhall who was very helpful. He took our information and within 24 hours called us back to go over the information and we had a loan package the next day. It was easy and quick. Mike and Doug answered our questions and did what they said they would do. We closed in less than 3 weeks. We got a great rate and were able to save quite a bit of money. We have since referred family and friends to them. If you want to work with someone who is straight forward and honest ask for Mike Mullhall at the independence office. 216-642-8900.

Positive Experience!. I received a solicitation from First Ohio Banc & Lending just three weeks ago, offering two programs that I didn't think I qualified for. After making contact with Doug Mathews, I became a believer. Frankly, after becoming frustrated by conversations with other companies, working with Doug was very refreshing. Very professional, told the truth, and did what he (and the company) said they would. They closed my loan in under three weeks. I ended up saving enough money that i can pay my house off ten years sooner than what I expected. Kudos all the way around.

Refinancing a great success!. I recently refinanced through First Ohio Banc & Lending, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to finance or refinance, as rates are incredibly low right now. I worked with Matt Bohach and Kim Massey. They were fantastic - kind, informative, knowledgeable, quick, helpful - I could go on and on. My first experience was not nearly as worry-free!!
