Pizza as it should be.
Family owned, this establishment makes pizza like it was made before Pizza Hut, Domino's ect. were consider "good". If you never had a pizza made the way it was made when pizza shops were Mom and Pop establishments then you should try Big Guys. You will never want to eat any others. It brings back memories for me. It is the kind of pizza I remember enjoying when I lived in Stamford, Conn. many years ago.

great food and customer service.
I am a regular at Big Guy's pizza. I have never received bad service from Big Guy's Pizza. I was a customer that night that this supposed "dirty pizza" was served. This man in question was the rudest, most impatient man i have ever come across and could only wish he was served a dirty pizza. Because he had to wait an extra 10 minutes for his food he went on ranting about the wait. As for his attitude towards the server I think that was very rude on his part.I had to wait 15 minutes extra for my for my pizza, but it was well worth the wait.. Good food is worth waiting for in my opinion.

I'll never order from Big Guy's again!.
While picking up my order one night, I saw the man removing pies from the oven drop the pizza scoop on the floor. He then proceeded to use it on pizzas without washing it. When I commented on this, the lady at the counter called me several vulgar names and followed me out the door to continue yelling at me saying I didn't know what I was talking about. Maybe I didn't, but do I know that I'll never order from Big Guy's again and neither should you unless you're after a dirty pizza.

An historic Tremont tavern branches out with pizza..
In Short
Big Guys stands next door to Hotz Cafe, a Tremont bar that's been in the Hotz family since 1919. Manager John Hotz converted his mother's beauty shop into a takeout-only spot producing loveliness of a different sort: voluptuous N.Y.-style pizzas, laden with cheese and cooked in gas-fired brick ovens (other items will be added as Big Guys expands). Specialty pies feature seafood, Southwestern, Polish and Hawaiian ingredients. Doughs and toppings are prepped fresh daily.

A little taste of NYC.
If you like REAL NYC style pizza.......GO HERE! This is the closest thing you will find in cleveland. My boyfriend who moved here from NYC was appalled at how bad most of the pizza is here in Cleveland. We found this gem and now will drive 25 minutes to get a pizza from Big Guy's rather than eat whats available in our area. Stop at the bar next door and have a drink while you wait. Everytime we have been there, they have welcomed us like family and shown us pictures of the history surrounding the place as well as told the story behind why the pizzaa shop is called Big Guys. Great people great pizza !!
