love it!!. I am now a regular at OPA! Bring in your own wine... smaller bill. The service is awesome, everyone there is witty and smart and they really know the menu. The food, oh the food. That is the best part. Everything is so interesting and exciting and original. You can tell that they put heart into everything they make for you. The chef and the owner frequent the dining room and ask how everything is which is always a plus. They re-do their menu by season so dining there regularly is never boring. And to top it off they have the best bathroom I've ever seen at a restaurant.
Wonderful treasure in Ohio City. I highly recommend this wonderful treasure in Ohio City. My experience with Opa has been tops at any time but I especially love their Sunday brunch. The french toast with spiced cream cheese is to die for and the omelettes are delicicous and made to order. The value is fantastic. Plus, my bottom line, the coffee is great! The service is personal and the place is small enough that our server was always in sight. I've been to his brunch half a dozen times this year. Check it out.
Disappointing. The menu boasts many creative dishes with unusual ingredients among some classic Greek dishes. However, attention to detail in the preparation was lacking: calamari appetizers were tough and over-cooked, and in the salad course, the marinated Greek salad had excellent feta, however, the peppers were under-marinated, and the tomatoes too mushy. The lamb shank was buttery soft, but it was over-spiced with the dried rosemary added too close to the end of cooking, resulting in hard little sticks interfering with each bite. The twist-on baklava was great, and the espresso excellent.
