This place has definitely changed owners recently!!!
The first thing I noticed was the place was quieter and there was no hustle going on. The "Claw" toy vending machine is gone, and the friendly cashier was replaced by a very stressed out manager looking guy. The new crew clearly doesn't care, or never worked in food service- nobody made eye contact with us as we stood there for several minutes to be seated. One of the two waitresses was busy correcting someone's bill- probably needed a freebie. We watched one of the staff wipe the buffet and toss a piece of food BACK into the warming tray that was sitting on the counter (we should have walked out right then!).
Looking back, when I looked at the customers that were seated and eating, their expressions were telling me, "Get out while you can!" Our server barely spoke English, and I was surprised to find out they don't have crab legs to add to the buffet order. The food looks like it was reheated every day since the last guys were there. Not a lot of food in the buffet, overcooked dry instant (?) rice, and nothing looked appetizing. We left after finding only 2 things we considered eating. We put our plates in the bins of dirty plates that sat at the edge of the dining area (gross!)- is this a sign that they want diners to clear their own plates as they go??
None of the people in the restaurant looked happy- I kind of felt sorry for them that they didn't have the guts to walk out like I did!!
The China Buffet's days are numbered. DO NOT GO THERE!
Best Chinese Food – Excellent place to eat and for only $6.99 at dinner or $3.99 for lunch. Not like any of the other poorly run and operated China Buffets. The servers are excellent and the food is outstanding. Anytime that an item might be low all you need to do is ask and the container is filled right away. However, the girls usually male sure that they are kept up with.
I was there recently and the hostess came up to me at 9:30 pm (closing time) and told me that she knew they might be out of a couple of things, but I should feel free to let them know if there was anything that I wanted and they would make more for me. What restaurant treats their customers like this these days?
All the servers are good, but ask for Jo Jo as she is their best! You can't go wrong so feel free to try them out. You'll really like it!
