Employee Payday. This is a nice place to work and the owners are great, but when it comes to paying the employees for their hours worked, these people need to stop bouncing checks! Also they need to learn that when you hire someone and you are told payday is Friday then you should be PAID ON FRIDAY, NOT WHENEVER YOU FEEL LIKE PAYING FOR WORK PERFORMED!!!!!…

Rescue is tough. Animal House is a retail establishment that provides space to Ohio Pet Placement to adopt cats and dogs. This is no different than a PetSmart adoption partner, which Ohio Pet Placement happens to be. When you adopt a pet from Ohio Pet Placement at the Animal House or anywhere for that matter, policies are in black and white and thoroughly explained. Pets available for adoption are strays, owner surrenders, abused or neglected, or pulled from pounds to avoid euthenasia. Because of this, there is little to no history on any of the pets, and if there is it is usually false. When you adopt there is an application/ agreement clearly stating that there is no health or temperament guarantee and that there is no refund of the adoption donation. The second page of the application/agreement is an adoption release indicating that there may be undiagnosed illnesses or parasites and that you agree to be responsbile for the pet from that point forward. There is also a new pet health information sheet provided and explained to you that discusses those very things that shelter pets can be exposed to. Further, Petfinder partnered with a pet health insurance company designed specifically for shelter pets when adopted. The first month is only $5 and Ohio Pet Placement is even willing to pay for that first month if you sign up at the shelter, making it free to adoptors. This insurance covers ANY illness or accident up to $500 at the vet of your choice and it is effective at midnight the day of adoption. Yes, this even covers things like kennel cough, pnemonia and even parvo. As for a rediculous adoption fee, do you really think that it is free to have an adoption center? And that it’s cheap to provided food, care and medical care? The high fees also deter the impulse adoptions into homes that don’t truly want to make a lifelong commitment to a pet. No matter where you adopt or purchase a pet there is NEVER a 100% guarantee of perfect health. If you decide to adopt, knowing there are no health/temperament guarantees, knowing there is no refund or vet bill assistance AND you refuse to sign up for one month’s free insurance knowing they may have undiagnosed issues that you will be responsible for, it is unfair for you to harm the reputation of an organization that is simply out to save lives and complete families. Another ill puppy...... We adopted a puppy and within 3 days we spent an additional $300 on vet bills! Of course that was after their ridiculously expensive adoption fee of $400. We love our dog now and she is healthy and happy, but had she stayed there another couple of days, who knows if she would have survived- she really was that sick and incredibly under-weight! We also experienced the no call back, the avoidance, etc. The place should be closed down and the dogs should be put into places where the dogs are the priority.…

Dogs are Ill. Bought an 8 week old puppy from this store. Took him to the vet - he was anemic. After just purchasing the puppy, spent over $100 the next day at the vets. Called the store and requested to speak to the manager. Was always told she was not in, but would return my call. She never did. Went to the store to get the puppy his shots and voiced my complaint about the manager not returning my calls. Was told she would return my calls - again, never did. Clearly, this store is not customer friendly.…
