Editorial Review for Poco Wine Room – by Jill Lightner
In Short
A small space with a soaring ceiling and generous windows, this friendly hangout combines a special coziness with striking notes of artistry. Upstairs features low, comfortable couches while downstairs is built around a curved wood bar. The wines are limited to boutique northwest selections, and change every few months--trust the staff for great recommendations. The generous canapé plate makes a tasty meal for one; follow up with a not-too-sweet cheesecake or warm chocolate cake.

This is most certainly for those who enjoy wine bars. A very nice selection of reds, whites and sparkings and some wonderful tapas and appetizers. My sister and I stopped by on a Friday evening. The space is deceiving...very small when you first walk in, but there is an upstairs area that I would recommend. It is a cozy feel and we found ourselves engaging in friendly, and intriguing conversation with people all around us. The service was impeccable considering she had so many other people to attend to. She was very good at being personable while attending to other customers in a timely fashion. I enjoyed my experience, but I also really love wine. I also enjoy pubs but if you only like pubs, this would not be the place for you. Personally, I will be back.

It's very nice to go out in your neighborhood and go to a place where people are unpretentious, fun, inviting, and hilarious. Both the staff and patrons have loads or personality and the wine list features great selections that I wouldn't have otherwise tried. Plus, the chesse plates are huge, diverse, and tasty. I've been to Poco a handful of times and am planning on becoming a regular.
