Tips for Red Carpet Boutique

April 07, 2013

This STORE is HORRIBLE....Poor Customer Service!.....I purchased a $700 prom dress for my daughter here.1st of all they said they ordered my daughters dress and they didn't. I had to call them multiple times to find out when it would be in and they said it was ordered, then they call me back and say they need my daughters measurements because they forgot to order her dress. I let it go one of the owners called me and got hostile with me because I did not pick up her dress the day after it got there, then my daughter participated in her fashion show and she put m daughter in the most horrible dress ever and I asked her why and she told me that is what was left and turned back around as if I was not standing there, I sold tickets and invited friends and family to this event and I bought a $700 gown from her. She was not apologetic at all it was horrible! she made my daughter look a mess!

Nightmare. I made the mistake of taking a bridesmaid gown to Red Carpet Boutique to be altered. The alterations were minimal, consisting of a hem and a bow added to the waistline of the dress. I took the dress in 5 weeks before the wedding. When I picked up the dress (1 week prior to the event), the hem was crocked and had to be re-done...to which it is still is not straight; and the bow and sash were not attached as discussed. The alterations were all done by hand stitching opposed to using a sewing machine. The craftsmanship was spotty at best; I could have done a more professional job. I had to come in twice for a fitting, each ranging from 2-3 hrs. The last fitting the seamstress (the owner's mother) was sewing the dress while I had it on. The owner took no accountability of the situation, nor offered a palatable solution. I expressed my dissatisfaction to which the owner did not acknowledge, rather she just pretended to be busy with another customer and continued to write her grocery list, acting oblivious to the situation that was occurring in the same room, which she sat.

I try to support minority owned businesses and family businesses for that matter. But I will NEVER do any type of business with this company. The owner is immature, unprofessional, and lacks customer service skills. Clearly there is no recourse for the customer in this type of situation between a mother and daughter. I would not suggest patronizing this company, especially if you need simple alterations done. $91 dollars down the drain.
