Bad Business-bait and switch.
Had i only found the October review above mine i would have saved some cash. Same thing happened to me and my wife, sadly we have a gift certificate bought in August 2010, and finally decided to use it. I don't believe there was a sign posted anymore, but same response...sorry we don't honor the coupon. It was a buy $35, get $25 off your bill. We didn't present it at the onset since we didn't want our service to suffer as we may be perceived as only in it for the deal. This was our first time and WILL BE OUR ONLY TIME.
They didn't honor the coupon, offered us 10% off our bill (as we presented it when the main course came), and we walked out paying $49 before tip. You can't tell me by doing a good thing and taking $25 off, they wouldn't have covered their cost?
One word...Karma
False Advertising.
Unfortunately, I did not have opportunity to actually taste food from this restaurant. Instead, I was left with a very sour "taste" in my mouth simply from the lack of customer service.
My wife and I had purchased a gift certificate online for this restaurant. We were excited for a night out, and invited our parents to join us. When we got to the restaurant there was a sign on the outside of the door stating that they were not accepting gift certificates from that source.
My wife called them to find out why they had posted the sign, and they informed her that they were not able to make enough money if people used those certificates. To which my wife said, "Oh, so somebody else signed you up for this website where they sell your certificates?" Their response was "No, we signed up for it, but we decided that we don't want to honor our contract with them." "Since they won't let us out of our contract early we simply aren't accepting the certificates."
So my wife and I not only paid for these gift certificates, invited our families, and were looking forward to a night out, they chose to refuse our business, causing embarassment and losing an entire family's worth of business.
I hope nobody else falls victim to their false advertising and terrible customer service!
