The Scene
This is a strip mall on a massive scale, and it's none too attractive. Outlet mall shopping is an art, similar to thrifting. You must go with an open mind, lots of time and no expectations. Then the bargains will find you.
What You'll Find
The latest buzz in the outlet shopping world is the new Pottery Barn at Prime Outlets I. There, you will find all the lovely Pottery Barn furniture and knickknacks at more manageable prices. Most of the merchandise looks new¿no dings or scratches¿but some of it is still outrageously priced, like the child's white overstuffed chair for $250. Yikes! How much did that cost retail? If you have time for only one of the malls, go to the second exit, four miles south. There you will find more¿and cooler¿stores, such as Tommy Hilfiger, the Gap, Eddie Bauer, Coach, Guess and KB Toys.
