Tips for Avon Animal & Bird Hospital

So upset with this facility. I took my cat there yesterday and they told me it would be $1000 to make him better with no guarantee that he would ever be 100%. There is no possible way people today have that kind of money for animal care. I understand procedures and care take money, but that amount is obscene. After coming to the heart breaking conclusion that there was no way I could save my cat (my baby) I had to make the hard decision to put him to sleep. Dr. Olive was completely insensitive to the whole situation. While I was spending the last few minutes with my baby the receptionist walked in to the room and coldly asked me if I would be "taking care of this" with credit and if she could have my card. Through my tears I handed it to here. After my poor cat passed, I couldn't take it anymore and began to leave, all I got from Dr. Olive was an insensitive "sorry for your loss". I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone. Highly rude and insensitive.

Worst Vet Ever!!!. I will never ever go to this place for care for my pet. We took our puppy to Dr. Jennifer Olive and she was the most uncaring doctor that I have ever met! She did not do anything to help our pet and she could have died. She wouldn't care for her at all and suggested we take her back to the breeder and use our guarantee! She is the worst and she shouldn't have a license to practice. I have read that she is a good vet for cats but I would say then stick to them and don't work on dogs because she is terrible. Terrible service, terrible attitudes but go to Northview Animal Clinic and they are the best caring vets around. They helped her regardless of what she said because she was all for the money! I wanted my money back but of course the other Dr. Martti said she followed everything that she was suppose to do and wouldn't refund our money. They will have a lawsuit coming shortly because Dr. Olive would have killed my pet if we didn't take her to the other vet immediately. She would be gone now! I would think twice about going there regardless of what people say otherwise.

VERY PISSED OFF!!!!1. we have been going here for 3 years now and as it my have been over priced we never had a problem to recent when we took our dog in for a paw infection.Lets just say after three trips and 380.00 later still the same paw infection so they say lets do surgery well thank god i got a second opinion not only did NOW MY NEW VET find a piece of a pricker in his paw he also gave us other opinions and guess what no surgery needed at all.I really think this place just sees dollar signs when you walk in and could care less about the health of your pet.very, very displeased with this place and I WILL NOT BE BACK!!!!!

Glad I found you.... My pet had been seen elsewhere for his health issues and I couldn't get his problems solved. Thanks to the great doctors and staff at Avon Animal Hospital he is a much happier dog.

Going the extra mile....... I have been taking my various animals ( Dogs, Birds, Cat) to Avon Animal for the past 12 years, and have been more impressed with this practice every year. Any issue with my pets , major or minor, the staff has gone above and beyond to care for. They have worked wonders for my animals & all that I have reffered to them, in a kind, compassionate, and professional manor. Many thanks to them.

By the way, does anyone actually use the word "goulish" anymore? I'm just saying.........

great experience(s). I have been going to this animal hospital for many years. I have had cats and dog care and have been very pleased. My dog just had surgery and even though I kept calling to get updates, the staff was very understanding and patient. They offer weekend clinics that help with the costs of vaccines and I use the clinics for all of those. Keep up the good work!

Great place for pet care. The staff and the doctors are always helpful and caring. They know my pets by name and treat me as if I have value.

Before the emergency hospitals were in Lorain county you could actually call them at home and they would either advise you or meet you at the hospital.

I have had several pets put to sleep there and they have always been sympathetic and respectful

Not Animal Lovers!. I have never before dealt with a vet- a supposedly animal caring person-that had been so uncaring during my time of loss. Losing a pet is an awful thing to go through- but an uncaring, unprofessional doctor and staff can make it even harder! Be aware that they are more concerned with payment than the loss that you are sufffering when your pet has passed! I don't thnk that updating shots on a half paralyzed dog is in the best practice of a professional vet either! Never again!

Decent vet back to "ghoulish". We have been with that place for 40 years....if any of you have...you'll remember a male vet that was there once...went to prison ( I believe ) when investigators found a ghoulish operating room at his house with plywood tables and such...and carcasses of pets that were supposedly put down and cremated....god-awful story in papers at that time...I swear his ghoulish spirit is surviving in that building....no other way to explain the conversation and situation we just had......no pet will ever die in that place again....or go there for a nail clipping...just in case. Worst office I have ever used when a pet had to be put down........absolutely ghoulish...

Not the best service and they charge to much!. first time taking my dog to this new vet since moving to the area. vet seemed nice, but did not even check her teeth health, i had to ask to look at them. i had gone to vet clinics in the akron area, that were much less expensive and they did a better examine. also, i thought there shots price were high. you're better off going to one of the APL's to get shots. also, the wait time was way to long, my dog was so nervous and they had a lot of dogs backing in the kennel area behind the vet exam rooms. if i have to wait this long, i'm going back to apl for shots and save half the costs in future! was not impressed with service from staff. really did not get the impression that any of staff loved animals! if your looking for a new clinic, look somewhere else. i will drive further to get better service. also, my friend took her cat there, and after steriod injections, it died within a week. i don't recommend this place to anyone.
