Incredible food, customer service,.
My husband and I celebrated my birthday last week at Gamekeepers Taverne in Chagrin Falls. Although we live nearby and enjoy eating at upscale restaurants, neither one of us had been to Gamekeepers. I can't imagine that we won't be back soon. The meal was one of the best I've had in five years, and my husband agrees. We had an appetizer of mussels, cooked perfectly in a delicious tomato sauce, I had a pork chop and my husband got the elk. The waiter, Kevin, described some side dishes that were on the specials menu, and when we told him that they sounded so good, we wished we could pair them with our regular-menu items, he obliged, and even gave us extra so we could share. He recommended a house wine, which was great with both of our meals, and then we put ourselves over the top by ordering a layered chocolate mousse dessert that was sinful. Even the decaf was good! Kevin was attentive, but didn't hover, and let us continue our sans-baby conversation while steathily refilling our waters and clearing plates. Usually, there is at least one portion of a special meal that I could do without, but this entire meal was fantastic. When we go back, I may have a hard time ordering anything else!

Very enjoyable.
My wife and I tried this restaurant on recommendation of the nearby inn. We were pleasantly surprised; the food was top notch as was the service. Our waiter was very attentive but not overbearing. We sat in a quiet, intimate booth that we found very romantic.

Range-roving flavor hunters will find themselves captured by these fresh-game dinners..
The Scene
Seating marshaled around two fieldstone hearths and a comfortable, dark decor doesn't promise much in the way of wildlife. In fact, this could be just another sirloin joint catering to the meat-and-martini jones of the upscale Chagrin Falls demographic. But take a closer look: The kitchen assembles great lunches and dinners centered on some of the most unusual entrees in town.
The Menu
Whitetail venison chops and loin of elk sweetened with a Zinfandel reduction sets the tone for an evening's adventure. More traditional herb-crusted pork chops are a dinner standard, and the Adirondack burger smothered in portobello mushrooms, Monterey Jack cheese and mustard sauce is a lunch favorite.
