The Scene
Willoughby lies on the far eastern edge of the suburban sprawl, and its namesake brewing company has positioned itself to be on the cutting edge of the town's blue-plate revival. Billed as the first new brewpub in Lake County since Prohibition, the Willoughby inhabits a former passenger railcar repair shop with 40-foot-high windows. A considerable part of the original equipment has been preserved (when's the last time you sipped and tipped under an orange crane?).
The Food
The beer-friendly menu bounces from buffalo chicken egg rolls to crab claws, with the thin-crust pub pizzas a fave among the youngish broadcloth-and-chinos crowd. That's probably just the Lost Nation Ale talking. Try a Brewer's Chop, with the char-grilled pork challenged by a walnut-gorgonzola sauce. There's a smoking car complete with club chairs and a fireplace.

Visited my hometown after a year and a half. Was very pleasantly surprised by the WBC's service and food. Everything was wonderful!
Pros: well-trained staff, delicious food, casual environment
Cons: a bit loud, can get busy

I like the Willoughby Brewing Company for its food and drink - but best outdoor dining!? Its a view of the parking lot. I would rate it high for best microbrewery, good food, good atmosphere (albeit smokey), good service, but not best outdoor dining. My rating is for outdoor dining.
