These days, when fewer and fewer of us have family members with working farms that our children can visit, a place like Lake Farmpark is all the more important. The Farmpark
serves a duel existence, partly operational for the study of agriculture and farming, and part country-life theme park. For kids, it's all fun. Where else can they go for a wagon ride, milk a cow, get up-close-and-personal with lambs, horses, pigs, and other livestock, and even come face-to-face with an ostrich or llamas. Watch how they make cheese, ice cream, and bread. There's also a greenhouse and a hydroponics lab, plus a plant science center for the more serious-minded.
