Go To Rent, Not To Buy. If you're looking for a great Halloween costume or choice of seemingly limitless matching accessories, this is a great place to go (also try Chelsea's right across the street). But if you're looking for a wide selection of vintage clothes, this is not the place (again, try Chelsea's across the street). Prices are fair and the costumes are WONDERFUL!

Almost retro in and of itself, this is clothing for the most avid vintage hounds.. The Scene


Since opening its doors in 1979, the Cleveland Shop has provided the city with an excellent selection of rental costumes and vintage clothing, from Victorian beaded purses to psychedelic Pucci-esque shirts. Most of what you'll find here, though, lies between those eras; as almost any avid vintage hound will tell you, that's the best stuff.



The Goods


Prices vary and though some may seem high for already-worn items, you can rest assured that clothes won't have holes, sweat stains or missing buttons. Want to feel like royalty on Halloween? Rent a gown and top it off with a tiara. Fish through the racks and shelves for bell-bottoms, cowboy hats and flapper dresses to piece together a costume you can keep.
