A Secret Wonder of Pleasure.
I found this restaurant the other day by chance. I was looking for someplace different and new for the family and myself.
What a wonderful find here at Empress Taytu. The people were smiling and generous with hospitality. Beautiful surroundings that go beyond what simple words can convey.
The food was layered with flavor. The coffee was outstanding and the inviting smiles of the people there made me feel as if I never wanted to leave.
The service was slow, but in a day of fast food, fast lives, trust me when i say RELAX, take your time and enjoy and savor everything this place has to offer. The more you look, the more you try, them more of the extraordinary you will find.…

I love this resturant altough the service really isnt all that good the food is to die for. i can tell you this because my sister and i go on a regular basis so much so they know us. i love this place its quiete little known we can eat in peace and have a nice time enjoying wonderful food . maybe some who thought the food was bad should researech a place first before you go . then youll know exectly what your getting . i love this place and if i could i would eat here every day . i take all my friends who are willing to try and i often mention this place in passing with new people i meet.…
Great ambiance, good food, bad service..
We went to Empress Taytu's on a muggy night and found that the air conditioner wasn't working. It was almost enough to make us leave, but we'd been curious about the restaurant for some time and
wanted to go.
We got the meat and vegetable sampler and it was actually quite good. There was nothing remarkable about the dishes to me, but they were certainly good. The dorewat was a little bland to me, but that could just be inexperience with the food.
Did I mention it was hot in there? We had water to drink with our dinner, but went the last 20-30 minutes without a refill. I don't know that I would go again, but the ambiance of the restaurant was really nice.…
Not what I had hoped for.
I went on a weekday night and was disappointed overall. The restaurant was HOT and empty, and the service was poor (partially due to the language barrier). My Meat and Vegetable Sampler was nothing
special, but my girlfriend liked the Veggie Sampler, and the Appetizer Sampler was enjoyable. Skip the honey wine and stick to their fruity mixed drinks.
The coffee ceremony was AMAZING. It made the night worthwhile. I would go back for the coffee alone. It is very strong, but not bitter at all.
The unique atmosphere could be fun with the right group on a busy night.…
