It is what it is, folks.. hey! guess what! it ain't Giovanni's, people! this is a neighborhood pizza joint. the pizza isn't to everyone's liking, but neither is Papa John's, Donato's or what-have-you. you don't go here for hi-my-name-is-Bryce-i'll-be-your-server. you go to Mama Santa's for the cheap pizza and the Little Italy experience, for great ravioli and a $12 bottle of wine. it's homey and comforting.

Simply the best. Their sauce is unique, not bland tomato as with most places. Very reasonably priced. Service is sometimes lacking and they could use a better beer list, but the pizza is so good, everything else is tolerated.

Not for stuffy yuppies. First of all, what it is: a fantastic neighborhood eatery. What it is not: a four-star restaurant complete with expensive table settings and black tie servers. If you like huge portions of homemade pasta and luscious pizza this place will become a consistent stop. If you're looking for a stuffy, overpriced fancy place to impress a trendy date you will not like Mama Santa's. The down to earth atmosphere where form takes a back seat to function is ideal for students and artists at any age. Beware conservative elitists!

Like Mama's. Great food at a good price, not real fancy inside but the food makes up for that.

You call this pizza?. Using reconstituted onions like Mc'Donald's is NOT what I call good toppings. The crust was hard and inedible, the sauce was bland, and the toppings sucked. Not even fresh mushrooms - they used the nasty canned variety. The waitress practically threw the pizza at us and we had to send up a flare to get the bill. I can't believe this place is rated so high - I'd rater eat pizza from ANY place else. Definitely the WORST pizza I've EVER had.

Mama Mia is Mama Santa's Yummy!. Mama Santa's is terrific...outstanding pizza at a great price in a traditional Italian family-owned setting. Great place in a great location!

Piss poor. If the pizzas werent cheaper than a quality import, it would get all 1's. Terrible service, no refills, terrible sauce, over or under cooked pizza every time, and NOT authentic Italian style pizza. DIRTY

Real Italian food. It is far and away the best Italian food in Cleveland. Buca di Peppo doesn't even come close.I am half Italian and am always trying to find authentic Italian foodand Mama Santa's is as "real" as it gets.

Winner of most bland. It has been a few years -- less than 8, more than 5 -- but my recollection of this place is that its pizza sauce was a bit bland. If I remember correctly, it featured a thin and chewy crust (one of my faves, you can fold it up and stuff it in easily).

I think this might be the kind of pizza that tastes great right out of the fridge the next day.

I wouldn't drive any great distance for Mama Santa's pizza. If I was in the area, I might order some of their pizza to go.

I'm sure plenty of locals call on this place whenever they want some zah. But that doesn't make it the best in Cleveland. Most of us have a favorite local pizza joint. This one must have a dedicated following. Worth trying but keep your local place on the speed dial.
