What People Are Saying About Valentino's

In Short – Under a yellow awning, this family-run pizzeria in Little Italy has made its reputation dishing perfect pies--fragrant, expertly charred in a stainless-steel hearth, and mottled with melting mozzarella--to the University Circle and college crowds. But the pasta dinners loaded with family-recipe meatballs and homemade sausage are also a real find (salad and bread included). The meatball sub, four tennis ball-sized beauties in a foil-wrapped, foot-long roll, qualifies as a feast.
Best pizza ever.

Best pizza ever. My favorites are Pepperoni or Canadian Bacon. My roommate worked at the competing pizzeria Mama Santa's. They're both good, but valentino's has the best sauce of all time.
Browns or Steelers, Yankees or Red Sox, Mama Santa or Valentino's...it's one or the other!

Like the title suggests, people seem to love one or the other of these rival pizza shops in the Little Italy neighborhood. For me, Mama Santa is the winner...hands down!!! I have tried Valentino's a few times and found it to be drastically overpriced considering it tastes like frozen pizza. If you like the bland, flat, stone oven type of pizza, you may be happy. I'll eat anything and I LOVE pizza, but Mama Santa's sauce makes this a no contest. Plus, Valentino's is more than double the price for a large pie. While the service is typically unfriendly at Mama Santa, especially the girls behind the counter...you'll be happier with the food.
