There's more than pretty flowers at the country's oldest civic garden.. The Gardens Founded in 1930, the spectacular Cleveland Botanical Gardens boasts more than 3,000 herbs, plants and shrubs growing on 7.5 acres of lush, landscaped grounds.
More than Flowers The University Circle site also showcases photography exhibits and readings by area poets. It keeps one of the country's largest garden libraries, including a special children's section, where pre-schoolers enjoy garden-themed storytelling sessions. In addition, special kids' classes are offered throughout the year, usually allowing children to make-and-take a garden-related art projects.
