Editorial Review for Crawford Auto and Aviation Museum – by Lori Noernberg

The Scene
Part of the Western Reserve Historical Society complex, the two-tiered museum (founded by former industrialist Frederick Crawford) is renowned for its eclectic collection of classic autos. The museum's lower floor features a replica of an 1800s main street, as well as antique buggies, early Harley Davidson motorcycles, the Toledo-manufactured Willys Custom Sedan and a small collection of airplanes (including a World War II P-51 Mustang, converted to a race car after the war).

The Draw
The collection includes the oldest car in North America (a Parisian-made 1895 Panhard et Levassor), and the 1967 limousine used by Presidents Johnson, Nixon, Ford and Carter with its thick bulletproof windows. There's also a 1932 Peerless: The last passenger car made in Cleveland, it has an estimated value of $2.5 million. With detailed information provided on each exhibit, the museum is great for children as well as adults.
