The Sculpture Center, with its focus on abstract expressionism, has proven to early skeptics that Northeast Ohio will support sculpture as a legitimate art form.. The Scene The Sculpture Center recently showed its dedication to abstract works with the unveiling of the Ninth Anniversary Exhibition group. These sculptures, designed by four former jurors of past exhibitions, exemplified the level of excellence to which the has risen center over the years. Despite the abstract nature of many of Sculpture Center displays, the occasional art lover need not worry. You don't have to understand or interpret these works--just admire the intricate work crafted into each design and enjoy. Student Solutions Every year, The Sculpture Center works with the faculty and staff of The Cleveland Institute of Art to curate an exhibition featuring works by select students from the three-dimensional foundation courses. Assignments vary in scale, scope, and material; quality is the prevailing element in all the creations. Bonus The Outdoor Conservation Program showcases 13 sculptural groups in the Fine Arts Garden (located in the lagoon area south of the Art Museum), treasures, dating from 1899 to 1929 that previously suffered the effects of weather, pollution, vandalism and neglect.
