The Scene
From the outside, Daystar appears to be just like the many other vintage boutiques and antique shops lining Detroit Avenue in Lakewood. Step inside, however, and you'll find tye-dyed tee shirts instead of old lamps, used CDs and records instead of rocking chairs for resale.
"For Tobacco Use Only"
Daystar Boutique carries an eclectic mix of items for the Grateful Dead/Phish/drug-paraphernalia fan in your family. The walls are lined with a colorful array of shirts, along with a bunch of hooded pullovers and "4:20" baseball caps. Hidden in the back of the store you'll find an impressive selection of smoking accessories ("for tobacco use only"/"18 and over only"), ranging from rolling papers and small metal pipes to huge glass bongs. There's also lots of body-piercing friendly jewelry, peace-niky/"fire it up" bumper stickers and buttons, and the obligatory selection of incense and burners to cover up the smell of ... um ... "tobacco."
