From Birkenstocks to globally conscious knickknacks, don't take this boutique "lion" down..
The Scene
Poised majestically in the heart of Lakewood's shopping district, Lion and Blue is a flower-child's paradise. The shop is brimming with flowing skirts and tapestries, eastern-inspired jewelry, and trinkets from every corner of the world. Best of all, you'll receive plenty of personal attention, as the owner frequently waits on and chats with customers.
Take Me Away
Step into the intimate boutique and be transported to the far corners of the world with drums from Africa, shoes from Germany and handbags from South America. The space is open and inviting and almost seems to glow from within thanks to the friendly, quiet staff, serene music and a trickling fountain. Don't overlook the shop's most wonderful items, even though they're hidden in the rear amid tribal drums and nature-inspired statues: fantastically sturdy, handmade stationery and journals from Tibet.
What's in a Name?
The name "Lion and Blue" hails from a now out-of-print story of hope and transformation, originally written as a childrens' book by Robert Vavra.
