You may get green eggs and ham, but since your wallet can take it, so can your stomach..
The Scene
The shape and ambiance of John's diner indicates it maybe once was a boxcar, or perhaps somebody's trailer. Who knows? It's been a Lakewood fixture since Lakewood had wood: There are tell-tale photos lining the diner's front-porch waiting area, helicopter shots of the restaurant when its only neighbors were trees.
The Menu
The food is greasy and fast, but it's what it should be for a diner. With fare far from light but great for the price, John's offers the usual morning meat-platter delights ($3.25-5.50): pork chops and eggs, rib steak and eggs, ham steak and eggs, and strip steak and eggs. It's hard-core, comatose eating, and you will most definitely seal your fate by ordering the pancakes. And like the menu motto reads, "If you are satisfied, tell your friends. If not, tell us."

You WISH your mom cooked like this!.
Yuppies can keep driving! Regular folks should stop in, though. Squeeze in at the counter, or grab a booth. Good variety of food, served fast, and the best value you'll find in this area!
