I thought it was a good zoo. I went to the zoo a couple of years ago, and I thought it was a pretty good zoo. I thought that it wasn't too small. I really enjoyed its indoor rain forest and its elephant exhibit. The picnic area is also nice.

With its indoor rain forest, huge primate collection and exotic animals, this old zoo has plenty of new thrills.. Overview
The crown jewel of the Emerald Necklace park system, the Cleveland Zoo and Rainforest truly has something for everyone. Although it's one of the oldest zoos in the country, it's been updated with modern family-friendly amenities, like on-site McDonalds and Pizza Hut locations.

The Experience
Logically laid out and easy to navigate, the zoo has plenty of room for strollers and wagons. Animal exhibits are clean, colorfully designed and educational without being stuffy. Highlights include the Australian Adventure, five acres of Down Under wonder; the architecturally beautiful Rainforest, which transports you to the tropics with the help of more than 600 exotic animals; and Wolf Wilderness, where you can see wolves in an amazingly natural habitat. The zoo also has the largest primate collection in North America.

Rainforest rocks. the rainforest @ the cleveland zoo far outranked the zoo itself. the zoo is kinda small, very limited animals-1 giraffe, 1 hippo, 3 elephans, 1 lion, etc. but hte rainforest was so cool-and such a learning experience. the "dinosaurs" exhibit (walking tour) was pretty cool too, but i hear (cause i didn't shell out hte extra $$) that the "virtual" dinosour "ride" was way overpriced-and only a few minutes long

grrrreeeeaaaattt!!!. Probably one of the best I have been to. They are 2 separate attractions in the same lot but worth it. (also not very expensive to get both). You can really get up close w/ some of the animals and it has some of the best viewing of them in both places....not many cages mostly window and outdoor type enclosures.
