Tips for City Star Nails

Travel out of my way for the service. I don't know what ctown is talking about. After reading the comment I even went to the court website and City Star has NEVER been named a defendant in a lawsuit so that is an blatant lie.

I have been going to City Star for probably close to 10 years. Two years ago I moved about 15/20 minutes from Kamms and have tried to find places near me with even 1/2 the talent or customer service. I have been unable to find a salon as competent as Ken and Kim's place. I have even had to go to Ken to fix the screw up other nail salons have done to my nails. I will gladly pay the extra gas money to have my nails done correctly by competent and friendly technicians.

Highly Recommend. I totally agree with S. Salman's comments. City Star Nail Salon is probably the cleaness, most efficient nail salon on the West side of Cleveland. I have been going there since it opened. The owners, Kim and Ken are very gracious to their customers. They acknowledge all their "regular" customers by name, and are very accomadating in getting me in when I am in a hurry. All their nail techs are very good at what they do. I have never had any infections, or bad experiences there. They just remodeled their salon and it's very clean and stylish. I wouldn't go any where else to have my nails done.

I highly recommend u experience City Star Nail Salon!!. Please do not judge this Salon cause of a couple of negative reviews...Treat yourself to their amazing way of making u feel special and beautiful.. I was fortunate to be able to take my disabled mother here and she was made to feel like a Queen...service was amazing....their cleanliness is next to Godliness.. and when we were done, my mother had the biggest smile on her face and will last forever!!! Thank you to Ken & Kim the owners...

Horrible Place. Customer service in the place is horrible. My wife had her nails done here, not only is the place filthy. She had acrylic nails put on and had fill ins several times. It was until last week that she noticed some discoloration under her nail and when she asked about it, the technician told her that it was just a little fungus and she can just get a darker nail polish to cover it up and she would never see it. Are you kidding me? Just put darker nail polish on it? She immediately asked the nails be removed, which they were, but in the process her nails are now damaged and will not grow at all. She called the place and asked for a refund and was basically called a liar. After threatening to take them to court, the person she talked to told that they had been ued before and just simply don't show up to the court date, so she will not get her money. I have no idea how this place can stay in business if they are ignoring court orders to refund money. He insisted that they performed a service and she is not entitled to a refund and simply hung up the phone on her. Never go into this establishment, you will surely regret it.

Loyal customer thanks to the great service!!. When you walk into City Star Nails you first realize that its not your five star salon.. I've been getting my nails done there for the last three years since I attended the high school right down the street, but even after graduating I still go there for my fills every two weeks.. I am very picky about my nails so I usually request Kent or Kim((they are husband and wife)) because they take a little bit longer even when the shop is busy.. I'm always greeted with a warm welcome while signing in.. ((they take appointments and walk ins as well)) I've gotten to know most of the workers over the last couple of years and they always remember personal information as well such as the company I work for and the name of my mother and grandmother who also go there so small talk is never a problem!!

I was surprised to see that the woman before me commented on the nail polishes.. Every other time I am in there they have the newest O.P.I. collection which is always fun to look at.. They probably have over or about 100 O.P.I. colors which I love because the quality is great..

Prices are very reasonable:

$28 for a full set $35 for gel

$18 for a fill

((white air brush is always free and I think they have forty designs with just white))

$30 or 35 for a pedicure

Avoid this salon if you prefer your manicures without infections and bleeding.. I went to City Star Nails on Saturday 8/16 for a manicure and pedicure. I should have walked out the door the minute I saw that the newest bottle of polish they had was probably a year and half old and none of the tools they were using on me were coming from a sterilizer. The pedicure was first. He was extremely rough on me and even caused me to yell out "OW!" at one point (it was a reflex) because he had cut my cuticle so deeply with those nippers. I should have said "never mind" at that point and left, but I didn't. I really should have. After slapping the old stringy polish on my toes without any care (left huge gaps on the edges), we made our way over to the manicure table. It was the worst manicure of my life. The file he used was super corse and left my nails all jagged! Before he applied the polish, I asked him to fix that, but he only had the one corse nail file so it didn't really help. He actually smudged my nails HIMSELF switching from hand to hand, and instead of redoing the nail, he just painted over the smudge. Here's the best part: when it was time to pay he told me it would be $49.29. I had only been in their salon for like 20 mins, and he wanted $45 for the worst nail services of my LIFE. It was the only manicure I have ever gotten where my nails actually looked WORSE after than before! I should have just left my old chipped nail polish on and never went here. This is just another example of me not speaking up when things don't seem right - I need to not be so shy in the future! Oh yeah, I went to the shell station nearby to grab a bottled water afterwards and was expressing my disappointment to the girls working the register. One of them said that she was bleeding really badly after going there for a manicure! I would avoid this place like the plague. Find ANY other salon and it cannot be worse than City Star Nails.
