Editorial Review for Shooters on the Water – by John Hyduk

The Scene
Located on a prime stretch of Cuyahoga riverbank, Shooters has added a sushi bar to the dinner mix, but the pizza still outsells the raw stuff two to one--which proves you can lead a Clevelander to the water's edge, but you can't make him rethink his dinner plans. The popular patio is only open when the weather is deemed warm enough.

The Food
The house specialties are a slow-roasted prime rib dinner and grilled pork chops, but that seems like a lot of food before dancing. Lighter bites include an excellent seafood salad and an escargot appetizer platter that seems to have wandered in from a French restaurant by mistake. The grilled salmon burger's time has not yet come; if you've got a fish wish, try the Lake Erie perch.

Insider Tips

Know Before You Go

Shooters is known for having a heavy singles scene, which is great if you are interested in making beautiful music with someone new--but it's not for everyone.

18 years ago it was fantastic. The Flats were jumping and Shooters was the place to go in the summertime, but those days are long gone and most Cleveanders have moved on.It's a shame,I believe RTA was late in getting trains down there. If they had done that from the get go,I think it would have been better. Most of the good eateries are at the top of the flats and in the dare I say Burbs.

Pros: The river doesn't smell as much in the colder months

Cons: The river smells awful in the warmer months

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

New menu which was excellent ( I suggest the Boursin Chicken)...awesome atmosphere....better prices. I believe Shooters has made a change for the better. Well done. I'll be back soon!

Pros: Wide variety of food, great view

Cons: non that i could see
