Better Than It Has To Be. One of the most peculiar things about Cleveland is that for a city with so much waterfront between Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River, there are less than a handful of restaurants on the shoreline or river's edge. To be sure, the view from Shooters on the west bank of the Flats is hardly inspiring, overlooking, as it does, some sort of crushed limestone facility, but at least you can see water and feel the cool breeze as you sit on the comfortable, boat friendly deck. And given the fact that it is one of the only waterfront operations in town, the food is not bad at all. Though potentially written off as pub grub, this venue provides options to span every palate and price range. The salads all come in full or half-portions with the half being enough for most appetites. One salad featuring goat cheese, dried cranberries, and candied walnuts was fresh, satisfying, and light enough for a warm summer day. The veggie burger was a real surprise. The exterior was crispy, the inside moist, and the flavors of corn and black beans were accentuated by a nicely spiced chili flavor. The accompanying guacamole was a pleasant touch and could smooth out the spice of the burger for those who desire less of a kick. A champagne martini was strong and delicious, quite refreshing when sipped at water's edge while the nearby drawbridge raised for boats and lowered for passing trains. Service was attentive and friendly, and a fine time was had by all.
shooters on the water. shooters on the water needs to stop being so cheap and hire people to help bring the place back to life. people who really care and not people who just wants a paycheck. good people looking for work spend the money
Shooters is dead for me!!!!. i was at shooters last nite w couple of my friends,we started dancing and two girls threw 2 drinks at my back,i was soking. Told the security and they didnt do anything about it! will never come to this horrible place, where they dont care about their paying customers!!! never been treated this horribly ever in my life!! it is going down, very ghetto like!!!!
Shooters Was Good in 1990. 18 years ago it was fantastic. The Flats were jumping and Shooters was the place to go in the summertime, but those days are long gone and most Cleveanders have moved on.It's a shame,I believe RTA was late in getting trains down there. If they had done that from the get go,I think it would have been better. Most of the good eateries are at the top of the flats and in the dare I say Burbs.
Change for the better!!!. New menu which was excellent ( I suggest the Boursin Chicken)...awesome atmosphere....better prices. I believe Shooters has made a change for the better. Well done. I'll be back soon!
Shooters not of Old. This place has changed for the worse along with the surrounding area over the years. Its sad to see it happen. Food is subpar. Restaurant is dated. Bathrooms are filthy. The crowd is young wannabes with little class. It seems Shooters is milking the younger "less Cultural" Crowd for what there worth. If you enjoy chubby girls with belly shirts bouncin to old dated Rap/Dance music, overpriced draft beer, food you can get at Dennys for less, standing in a puddle of urine while using the restroom, and Cheesy dated Decor, so be it, enjoy Shooters! Note to Shooters - Theres nothing like spending a little of the millions you have made over the years for some upgrades and improvements. Sorry Shooters, your heyday is well over.
Old Cleveland industriousness meets the worldly tastes of the younger generation, with a riverside view..
Located on a prime stretch of Cuyahoga riverbank, Shooters has added a sushi bar to the dinner mix, but the pizza still outsells the raw stuff two to one--which proves you can lead a Clevelander to the water's edge, but you can't make him rethink his dinner plans. The popular patio is only open when the weather is deemed warm enough.
The house specialties are a slow-roasted prime rib dinner and grilled pork chops, but that seems like a lot of food before dancing. Lighter bites include an excellent seafood salad and an escargot appetizer platter that seems to have wandered in from a French restaurant by mistake. The grilled salmon burger's time has not yet come; if you've got a fish wish, try the Lake Erie perch.
restful. the food is great and sitting on deck is very restful
MeatMarket. They actually have a nice thing there, But I was turned off by the whole Meat Market (read: pick-up-joint/find a romp-for-the-night) of the Flats overall. I remember when it wasn't that way... (I'm 37)
Who Could Ask for More?. Great Food, inexpensive drinks, the perfect setting for finding a summer romance
