Editorial Review for Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery – by Tim Piai
The Scene
Unlike the late John Harvard Brew House, the enormous Rock Bottom is a chain brewery that learned how to play by local rules: Set up shop along the reborn West Bank of the Cuyahoga, give your drafts local labels (like Dawg Pound Brown, Riverbend Red and Walleye Wheat), stick four pool tables on the upstairs level of your massive Powerhouse location, and let a regional band play the blues on Thursday and Friday nights--all admirable attempts to abandon the chain atmosphere. The food is above average, and the prices fall in the middle of all the local beerhouses. Dinner is the focus, perfect for the early Improv crowd. All the golf-obsessed suburbs are well represented--and while it's short on urban electricity, at least its got some pretty impressive North Coast implants.
The Crowd
Comedy clubbers, Nautica rockers, river rats, cul-de-sac claustrophobics, Powerhouse packs of eight or more.

After reading another review on this site, I guess my husband and I must have hit the place at the right time. The bartender was really friendly and one of the girls who worked there took the two of us on a tour of the brewery. She was a sweetheart. We left to check out a little bit more of the Flats and returned for dinner a couple of hours later. The food and the service were great and the price was right! We'll be back in Cleveland in September and you can bet we'll be back at the Rock Bottom.
Pros: really great beer, fun atmosphere, great food

If you want to spend a nice sunday afternnon watching a game, football or baseball, this is the place to be,food is better than average, even though they took off the menu the Mussels,a great dish, but you can still enjoy other appetizers at the bar enjoying one of their home brews and if u are a club member you can enjoy great savings.....
Pros: good setting, not overpriced, friendly bartender
Cons: beer could be colder, very noisy, long wait
