Past West Sixth Street's bars and fortune-telling shops, you'll come to a sign with the words "Capitol Clothes" in big block letters. In the shop marked by this unassuming sign, high style never goes out of fashion.
Class Doesn't Come Cheap
Very nice leather jackets--what most everyone comes for--start somewhere in the neighborhood of $150 and escalate into the high-rent $400 range. Jackets are just the beginning: If you want a pair of skin-tight leather pants, or a bright purple suit that would put Prince to shame, Capitol Clothes has your number. In addition to the flashier items, there's a staggering selection of hats and ties, many of which will make a striking impression at the office on Monday morning.
The Staff
If the old-timers who operate the place have the look of seasoned clothing-emporium vets, that's because the store's been around since roughly the dawn of time. And as far as they're concerned, it's not going anywhere--believe that.
