The Scene: – At first you might think you've wandered into the library of a 19th-century British estate, since high ceilings, plush private booths, a wood-paneled fireplace, leather-bound books and antique candle sconces give Spy a decidedly elegant tone. But there's no classical music here: Early in the evening, couples come to snuggle and talk; after midnight, the hip-hop crowd heads downstairs for loud, smoke-filled adventures not for the faint of heart. – – The Draw: – Spy offers a variety of expensive specialty drinks, including top-shelf martinis, both sweet and…
Not what it used to be...

This place has really gone down hill since the first time I was here a couple years ago, before I moved to Cleveland. It used to be a cool, trendy place to go with a diverse crowd where everyone was just there to dance and have a good time. But I went just recently and won't be back anytime soon unless things change. The service was ok but nothing special, but was worse was the crowd of people there. I was purposely ran into, called names, and even had a few racy remarks thrown at me! I was totally shocked, I've never experienced that in any other Warehouse District bar/club. It seemed as if you weren't dressed like you just came from watching James and the Cavs play and wearing 10 gold chains, you weren't welcome there and were certainly made to feel that way. Definately a very thuggish crowd like someone mentioned below.
- Pros: Good music, ok service, nice atmosphere
- Cons: thuggish crowd, rude crowd
What happened to Spy!!???

Spy used to be a great place to go to dance and hear some really good hip hop. They also make really good (but overly priced) drinks. Beautiful place, but the crowd has really gone down hill. It's not diverse AT ALL. It's PACKED every Friday but draws a very young and thuggish crowd! It's a shame---all they would have to do is enforce the dress code and I think the place would draw a classy, upscale, diverse crowd like it used to. I won't be back until they do.
- Pros: Beautiful club, Great music, Good drinks
- Cons: Thuggish crowd, Overpriced drinks, Long lines

The Spy Bar hit the scene on west 6th as the first of its kind, was the place to be, but then went downhill. Remarkably the spy is having a great turn around effect and is making a great come back. Most is due to the Youngstown native DJ mic boogy spinnin' on the 1's and 2's. Everyone is dressed to impress, professional and civil. You wont find a bar brawl here is a place where unity really does unite the ethnic diverse crowd through music. Well worth the 5 buck cover (keeps the riff-raff-cheeps out). A must go in Cleveland, you will think you are in NYC (without the cost). 2 floors of fun, house up and hip-hop down. You can dance and be in the action or find cozy places to talk and be out of the crowd, 2 bars in one
