Nothing Special – We were set to enjoy Blue Point when our concierge convinced us to go to Mallorca because it was "just as good, but cheaper."
Well it was fine, but nothing special. Our cocky young waiter did not know how to pour wine or remove a lobster from a tail. Bus boys continuously leaned across us to get our empty plates.
As for romantic, didn't see it. The tables were line up in rows in a plainly appointed, well lit room.
The food was pretty good, but nothing special. The wine list was big, but unimaginative and nothing special.
Mallorca may be cheaper than Blue Point, but it's nothing special.
This Warehouse District paella palace is the port of destination for locals hungry for a taste of Espana. – The Scene
Cleveland may not have much Iberian sunshine, but a bright island of Spanish and Portugese cuisine can be found at this spot in the Warehouse District. Inside, the restaurant boasts long, warmly appointed dining rooms with elbow-to-elbow seating good for both conversation and entree envy among the casually attired crowd.
The kitchen labors mightily to pay homage to classic dishes like veal with lemon and brandy, and chicken with a potent garlic sauce. Everybody comes for the paella Valenciana (the national dish of Spain, according to the waiter); well-musseled, chock full of spicy sausage and served with saffron rice, it's as good as any ethnic bowl in town. Meat lovers will thrill to the three-pound porterhouse steak. The wine list boasts over 300 labels, with an astonishing array of port wines.
Fabulous Food And Service – We were visiting from Pittsburgh for the weekend and was looking for something different. The staff at the Marriot Hotel highly recommended that we go to the Mallorca. They promised that we wouldn't be disappointed and boy were they right. We asked for smoking and even though they didn't accompany our request we were still very satisfied. The service was inpecible and the food was fabulous. We haven't stop talking about how great this place was and how we can't wait to visit again. They told us that the one in Pittsburgh wasn't as good but we're going to try it anyways. Good idea to make reservations ahead but if you're not in a hurry it's Worth the wait.
The perfect start to a great night – Simply the finest anywhere I have been a regular at Mallorca for three years. Dinning there about 3 days per week, I simply can not get enough. Often times I will sit at the bar with friends, enjoy some of the finest cocktails you will ever find while lavished with delicately prepared and lavishly presented food! The atmosphere compliments an already exquisite experience. When you dine at Mallorca you are with friends. I suggest during your next visit you and your significant other order my favorite dish, it is off the menu and simply elegant. You will start with an appetizer of Garlic shrimp and stuffed scallops, for the entree you will have a full cut filet, medium and a 32oz. lobster tail. When you finish your meal, enjoy an after dinner martini (the finest I have ever had anywhere) you will come back to this site and thank me!
Best Restaurant in town – Mallorca is great! NOt only are they worth every penny, but their service is outstanding. They put Ken Stewart's to shame, not only in food but especially in service!
Wow! What a place! – We had a very memorable, very delicious meal. The service was professional, courteous, and pleasant. The food was VERY plentiful and delicious. We ordered the garlic shrimp appetizer, the lobster tails with crabmeat stuffing and paella. All very good. I was very pleasantly surprised when the waitstaff sang "Happy Birthday" to me in Spanish. My "birthday" cake was delicious and different, too. We will definitely be back; in fact, we can't wait to go again to Mallorca!!
best place i ever ate – This is the only restaurant in Cleveland that servces Fresh seafood. The portions are also very large and delicious. The service is Perfect. The prices are very reasonable
Latino perfection – The food, dine & wine were all fantastic! Wonderful Latin food & staff.
Huge portions of fabulous food! – I have dined at Mallorca on several occassions. The portions are huge! I would suggest that for two people you order a single entree and you will still have plenty left over. The servers are mostly efficient. The salads are supreme!
THE BEST OF CLEVELAND – I took my girlfriend there because of the good feedback on msn about this place! Better than ever imagined! The service was by far the best I've ever had! The food was GREAT. We started with garlic shrimp and for 10 bucks it is almost a meal in itself! There must have been 20-25 shrimp. The 24 ounce lobster tail stuffed with shrimp and crab was awesome and I'm not even a big seafood person. All meals are served with bread, salad, spanish rice, spanish potatoes, and steamed vegetables! ALOT OF FOOD! Every one gets a shot of an almong spanish liquor at the end of your meal! Plus the place is as romantic as it gets! I loved it so much we went back 2 nights later were I proposed to my girlfriend! Get to Mallorca!
