The Scene – In a historic neighborhood of onion-domed Russian Orthodox churches, Lola is surrounded by babushkas during the day and BMWs at night. Inside, it's cool and comfortable, a culinary showcase of chic techniques and modern methods. Chef Michael Symon is a hometown product who graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and worked his way up the local food chain. Symon's stylings can be admired both live and via his frequent Food Network appearances. – – The Food – Lola's menu lists North Coast staples like lasagna, tater tots and mac and cheese. Forget…
Editor's Tips

- Lola has 4,000 bottles of wine in the cellar at all times, including fine boutique wines rarely sipped in Ohio.

- The raw bar hums from afternoon until late night, with last oyster call at 2am on weekends.
One of Best You'll Find

A great selection of food with a variety of unique preparations. The location draws a crowd on Thursday through Saturday night so make a reservation in advance.
You won't find standard fare on this menu but what you will find are some excellent twists to some great meals.
So yourself a favor and check out one of the best restaurants you may ever have a chance to experience.
Super Overrated

I was very excited to check out Lola and ended up being extremely disappointed by it. Given the portion size, and lack of flavor, it was extremely expensive and as someone who doesn't eat meat (although I do eat fish) I could eat only 2 entrees. It was very disappointing.
The restaurant was a bit too dark and the service was very unimpressive. Our waitress was wearing jeans, which I found a bit peculiar for an establishment of that level, and she was not very attentive or friendly. The hostess was downright rude.
I would not recommend going to Lola. My friend and I ordered 2 entrees, 2 desserts and 1 martini and dropped over $100 and left hungry. Do yourself a favor and go next door to The Greenhouse Tavern instead for a real dining experience!
- Pros: Very good quality food
- Cons: Very expensive, not vegetarian friendly, small portions
Our favorite place

We love eating at Lola. Even though pricey, we went for our anniversary. The food was fabulous. My husband isn't the most food adventurous type and he loved his food. The meat and scallops were cooked perfect. Everything really did make the occasion even more special.
We went back a second time for Cleveland restaurant week. $50/person and it was a three course meal with large portions. We still rave about the maple bacon ice cream. Thanks Michael for a great place in Downtown Cleveland. It's definitely worth a visit.
- Pros: great food
very good food, good service

Worth a stop if downtown. Innovative food, servers very good with recommendations. I would take out of towners to Lolita if they want a taste of Michael Symons cooking though...
