Editorial Review for Talkies Film & Coffee Bar – by Matthew Franks

The Scene
Discover cafe- and theater-style seating in front of a large movie screen. One too many across the street? Elbow up for a few Americanos, and the 3-D star renderings on the wall will begin to make sense. Check out the popular Reading Room, with its fireplace and blue patent-leather chairs. There are tables large enough to sit around and discuss your latest project, or find a quiet spot to sip your espresso and reflect.

The Draw
Coffee, tea and juice drinks named after popular artsy films, like "Last Mango in Paris." Talkies offers a nice variety of croissant and bagel sandwiches, as well as perfectly passable sweets. There's usually semi-fresh popcorn around for munching.

I absolutely love going to Talkies whenever I can. The food is delicious and inexpensive and the staff is personable and fun. I could spend my whole day there working on my computer for free or hanging out with my friends watching movies on their projector screen. It's comfortable, the coffee is great, and the deli is an added bonus. I can't say enough about how much I love this place!

Pros: It offers something for everyone

This coffeehouse has something for everyone! The front part of the store is good for converstaion without having to worry about disturbing other patrons. The next room features cushy, over-sized chairs to enjoy old movies. The third room is just for quiet study & reading (with the same comfy chairs). I went there to read my book and ended up watching a classic Hitchcock film. The server was very friendly and the service was quick. I think this place is great and I highly recommend it!

Coffee is coffee, right? But where you drink it is a whole different matter.   See the full editorial review.
