Lately when I go to little bar, once my favorite downtown spot, I feel like the owners couldn't care less about their little side project, brushing it aside to tend to their flagship ventures, Johnny's (downtown and on Fulton). In the last two weeks (since about 2/20/08), the menu changed, the cooks changed, and the attitudes of the servers changed - and I'm not talking about an improvement. The choices are worse, the menu dropped all of my group's favorites, the cooks apparently can't cook, and the servers are tired of hearing about it. I have tried three times to have a burger (they won't make a patty melt anymore), but have been served a hockey puck on a soggy bun, with enough char to make an elephant gag. Could this be? Little Bar can't cook a burger anymore? By the way, the new menu had about 16 seconds of thought put into it. For example, a cheese burger is $6.95, with onions: $8.95. I'm not kidding. A friend who really knows Cleveland restaurants warned me about my infatuation with Little Bar. "Just wait, they'll eventually let you down." Apparently he's been hurt before. Now I know what he meant. Time to find a new lunch spot.
Pros: A very good restaurant when the owners pay attention.
Cons: A very bad restaurant when the owners don't pay attention.

The food is the best deal in town for the price and the service during the day is the first rate. Sharon seems to be the queen bee and even when her hive is the busiest she delivers quality service and she has an uncanny memory for patrons and their likes and dislikes that makes even the most jaded diners feel right at home. When I am downtown there is only one place to eat and that is the Little Bar.
Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Inexpensive
