Club was demolished!. This club was demolished in a construction project. It's ironic that the picture of the place in the address header show the building, boarded up, and ready for the wrecking ball.
The Basement is closed..
The Look
Designed specifically to resemble the fantasy basement of your childhood, this East Bank MVP actually affords you the opportunity to dance atop a washer and dryer. Although the motif has slipped over the past few years (people keep taking the board games and matchbox cases), the club remains the most popular mainstream dance club in town.
Who's There
Packs of wide-eyed suburban 20-somethings ride out the long line and stuff themselves into the lower level for a mix of retro, dance and hip-hop cuts. With lights, strobe, neon and speakers set on stun, the weekends are a human car wash of sensory overload.
The Scene
Upstairs is more of the same, with a large outdoor rooftop that has its own agenda. When they're not battling 20 other guys to buy a beer for the dancing girl on the pedestal, young mavericks condemn each other to a turn at the ice shot station--a barbershop chair tilted under a giant ice block that transports evil shots through a frozen passage. It's MTV's "The Real World" meets Mardi Gras.
