What began as a pita bakery has turned into a Middle Eastern dining and shopping experience. Browse the jam-packed shelves or sit down at one of the few tables to gossip with the regulars.
The Food
There's always a line of downtown diners patiently waiting for falafel, spinach pies and gyro wraps from the deli. The reason? The market offers a glimpse into another world, filled with roasted watermelon and squash seeds, Armenian string cheese, raisin vinegar, garlic chips, apricot rolls, and plenty of fresh pita bread, made in the on-premises bakery. (The pita made here is shipped to stores in five states.) There's also an olive bar; feta cheese is showcased next to the baked goods and comes in four varieties: Greek, Bulgarian, goat and French.

You can come down on Carnegie Ave and you won't be alone. There will be many diners who are patiently waiting for those lovely gyro wraps from the deli. Or perhaps they are waiting for the falafel, or spinach pies? Don't worry - it's all good. Their shelves are jam-packed with loads of goodies. You'l find a middle eastern theme here. You'll find things like roasted watermelon, raisin vinegar, garlic chips, apricot rolls and fresh pita bread (made while you watch too). They ship this pita out to stores in five states so you know it must be good. We love the pita bread and the olive bar that they have there. They have so many good foods, it's hard to choose. Their spinach pies are so tasty. We've never had a problem with the foods there - all fresh and served with a smile. The place is clean and always filled with hungry patrons who will wait patiently for the great tasting food.

If your looking for different and unique items for your party this is the place to visit. They carry a large selection of hummus, taboule, olives, pita and many other middle eastern foods. They have a good selection of prepared foods and bakery. You can watch pita being made in their back room while you shop. They carry many varieties of pita in different sizes. They have a great grocery section that carries all the things you might need to prepare these ethnic foods. You can order a gyro or chicken wrap to go and they have beverages you can wash them down with. The prices are very reasonable. PROS: helpful clerks CONS: parking limited on the street

This is not the franchise "Aladdin's Eatery" but a bakery of the same name that has been in Cleveland for much longer. Their pizzas on pita breads, grape leaves, and falafels (made fresh) are great. A small market place is nice for some additional things for home. Not a place to sit and eat - but rather get the food and go. The prices have probably not changed for at least 20 years.
