The TGI Fridays of cajun food. The title really says it all. Don't go here if you have a taste for cajun food, or creole food, or anything even remotely similar. If your idea of excitement is ordering something other than your 'usual' at Fridays or Applebees, this place will be perfect. Otherwise, it will bore and probably disappoint you. My shrimp po' boy was basically a fried shrimp, lettuce, and tomato sandwich, meaning it had almost nothing in common with an actual po' boy - and the hoagie bun was stale at that.

Don't go here looking for classic New Orleans drinks either. Their mixed drink menu contains exactly five items, and while the full bar might tempt you to order something else, when I tried, the terribly overworked waitress asked more than once if the drink I wanted was "on the menu" before I gave up and ordered one of the fairly tasty but overpriced Dixie Black Lager. If the lower octane stuff doesn't suit you (and you're willing to stick to the menu), be sure to note their signature "blue" martini - (you'd be hard not to, as they take every opportunity to push it). This drink deserves a special mention. Why is "blue" in quotes you might ask? Well, I don't know - it certainly is blue. Maybe they migrated over from the word "martini" because I can't think of a drink farther away from a martini than this coconut rum, blue curacao and pineapple monstrosity.

The bottom line: skip this place and stumble just a few feet further to E. 4th where you'll find a whole host of great, unique Cleveland restaurants much worthier of your patronage.

Pass this place up...fake Cajun. Don't go here if you're expecting Louisiana-style Creole or even Cajun food. I'm sorry, but Fat Fish just fries long-dead crawfish, etc, and subsidizes it with standard dipping sauces. The food is not anything special - very standard fried fare. That said, they do host live music from time to time...which I suppose is a good cultural mark.

Awesome food, amazing drinks, great music!. I went here for the first time the other night. Not only was the food amazing but the bar was one of the most spacious and fun places to sit in the restaraunt. Not only did i get some great appetizers but i also got to enjoy the live music with front row seats! The bar staff let me know about some of the great happy hou changes they are making in the near future...i for sure will be attending!! p.s.... take your parking ticket in from the garage above...they will validate it for you and you get a huge discount!!

Expected a lot more. The wait staff was very nice and the atmosphere wasnt bad. But you cannot eat atmosphere. The food was absolutely horrible, if you have ever been to New Orleans you would understand that the food would not be fed to dogs. Straight to the swine trough.

One of the best. Fat Fish Blue continues to be one of the best reasons to make the trek from the suburbs to downtown Cleveland. Fantastic food, great blues bands for low cover, and cheap adjacent parking make it a no-hassle excellent restaurant to go again, and again, and again.

Am I in Cleveland or New Orleans?. What an amazing night my entire group had at Fat Fish Blue!!! Normally, my law firm hosts Happy Hour Partys at Fat Fish Blue, so, I am there early after work. This past visit we came to see an amazing blues band. The ticket price was ONLY $5!!! Our service was wonderful ans so was the food. The chef is very talented! He even came by our table to see how dinner tasted. Talk about being treated with kid-gloves! What a fun place. The parking was only $2! There in no place like it in Cleveland! Bourbon Street right smack in the middle of Cleveland!!! I'll be back for Sunday Brunch!

Mardi Gras Anytime!. I absolutely love FFB, going there is always a treat! I highly recommend the Catfish Lollipops served with their jalapeno sauce, it's complete heaven! Also would recommend the Carpetbagger dessert to share with your date. It's divine!

Jambalaya and spices from the bayou are just part of the heat at this Delta blues palace.. The Scene
The sprawling horseshoe bar and bistro kitchen fill a two-story concrete hollow. Lots of windows face the street, and potted greenery gives the impression you're eating in a Rousseau jungle. A stenciled Cajun catchphrase orders you to "let the good times roll." It has a party-central reputation: Think blues, barbecue and Bourbon Street.

The Food
The kitchen knows the difference between Creole and Cajun--one is an upscale Louisiana approximation of French cuisine; the other is a down-home style of cooking made up of swamp bites. Better, it doesn't fall into the scorched-earth policy of dousing everything in liquid fire, then blackening it. Employees perform a zydeco reel as they deliver trays of pecan chicken with Jack Daniel's sauce and bowls of Big Daddy's gumbo.
