I just picked up my daughter's senior pictures from Nelson's today, and they are BEAUTIFUL. Her sitting was last Friday--8/22/08--and I was pleasantly surprised last night when they called to say the pictures were ready. The sitting was very fun and unrushed--it was about an hour long. The studio allowed two clothing changes and Katy took many, many digital pictures. We were a little disappointed that we were not able to take proofs home and mull over them before ordering, but did not feel rushed at all with Barb who expertly showed us what was taken and helped us eliminate shots little by little. This is my third child that has had senior pictures taken at Nelson's Studio. We've taken each to the expensive studio for the yearbook picture first (some of my friends have spent $300-$500 on senior pictures) and then booked our Nelson's sitting an hour or so after so they look the same in both pictures and don't have to get ready twice. I highly recommend this studio and look forward to their improvements planned in the next couple months. Additionally I intend on bringing my next two children here for their senior pictures as well!
Pros: Reasonable prices
Cons: Can't bring home proofs before ordering

I used this studio for a family portrait sitting and was VERY disappointed. Their prices were reasonable, but the quality of the photos and "talent" of the photographer was very poor. First of all, the photographer does not use digital equipment, which creates the potential for the subjects to have their eyes closed, heads turned, etc. Most photographers will take a number of photographs in order to compensate for the lack of digital equipment, but she took 3-4 total proofs of our group. I also felt VERY rushed though the sitting (which lasted 10-15 minutes). It seemed like the photographer was more interested in getting us "in and out" than ensuring that she could deliver a good, quality finished product. We had a few children in the group, so her "rushed" style was especially problematic. I feel like we wasted a couple hundred $$ on this sitting...but more importantly, I feel that we missed the opportunity to get a nice, quality portrait of our family who is normally scattered across the globe.
