Great Place, Greater Service. We held an anniversary dinner for my parents here. The owner (Jimmy) let us have the bar side to ourselves so it was almost like having a private room. Jimmy was the most gracious and accommodating business person I've ever dealt with. He gave us a very fair package price for a party of 23, allowed us to decorate the room in advance, and even printed special customized menus without prices. All of the guests were very pleased with the food and all of the employees were extremely pleasant and helpful. Will definitely visit Jimmy's again.…
Beet cake is a must. Note that I have only eaten on the bar side, not the restaurant side. I've been going to Jimmy's for some time now. The food is great, not typical tavern/bar food. They have duck, great salads, and definitely get a slice of beet cake. It's mostly chocolate flavored with a hint of beets, don't worry. The bartenders are friendly, quick, and usually pour on the larger side. Good selection of vodkas, scotches, and beers on tap and bottled. It may be on the slightly dirty side, but you'll feel at home in Jimmy's.…
Cozy, friendly, good food. This little restaurant is easy to miss. With "Tavern" in its name, people probably think it's just a bar. There is a bar on one side, but on the other side of the dividing wall is a cozy restaurant where the food is always good (though the small dinner menu hasn't changed much over the years), and the service is friendly and excellent. Most nights, the owners come out and chat. Everyone we've taken there has liked it, and has gone back. The back entrance from the parking lot (the same lot used by Cedar-Lee Theater patrons) is almost invisible, and in need of surface repair and cleaning. But don't let that deter you from going in!…
